About the scholarship

The Denys Holland Scholarship at University College London (UCL) is a need-based award established in memory of Professor Denys Holland, a beloved academic who championed student support. This fully funded scholarship provides up to £9,000 per year for three years to cover tuition fees and living expenses, enabling undergraduate students facing financial hardship to study at UCL, one of the UK’s top universities. The scholarship supports students across all UCL faculties, from arts and sciences to engineering and medicine, offering access to world-class education and research facilities in the heart of London. Scholars benefit from UCL’s vibrant, diverse community and opportunities for academic and personal growth through clubs, societies, and career services.

The program reflects UCL’s commitment to accessibility and inclusion, ensuring talented students can pursue their academic goals regardless of financial barriers. Recipients are encouraged to engage in UCL’s global network, participating in research projects, internships, and cultural events that enhance their skills and employability. The scholarship also fosters a sense of community, connecting scholars with mentors and alumni who provide guidance and support. By alleviating financial pressures, the Denys Holland Scholarship empowers students to focus on their studies and contribute to UCL’s legacy of innovation and social impact.
