🎯 How to Play
Your goal: Guess the 5-letter legal word in 6 tries!
📝 Step-by-Step
- Type your guess: Enter any 5-letter legal terminology word using the keyboard or your physical keyboard
- Submit: Press ENTER (or click the ENTER button) to submit your guess
- Check the colors: After submitting, tiles will change color to show you how close you are
- Use the hints: Adjust your next guess based on the color feedback
- Win or lose: You have 6 attempts to guess the word correctly!
🎨 What the Colors Mean
After each guess, the tiles will show one of three colors:
🟩 Green (Correct): The letter is in the word AND in the correct position
Example: If you guess "COURT" and C turns green, C is the first letter of the word.
🟨 Yellow (Present): The letter is in the word BUT in the wrong position
Strategy: If you guess "LEGAL" and G turns yellow, G is in the word but not in that position. Try another legal word with G in a different position, like "JUDGE". Keep trying different positions until you find where G belongs!
⬜ Gray (Absent): The letter is NOT in the word at all
Example: If you guess "CLAIM" and C turns gray, C is not in the word.
🎉 Complete Word (All Green): When all 5 letters turn green, you've won!
Example: If you guess "COURT" and all tiles turn green, you've correctly guessed the word! 🎉
💡 Strategy Tips
- Start smart: Begin with common legal terms like COURT, TRIAL, JUDGE, or LEGAL
- Yellow letters: When a letter turns yellow, try it in different positions in your next guesses. For example, if G is yellow in "LEGAL", try "JUDGE" to test G in a different position
- Green letters: Keep green letters in the same position for all future guesses
- Gray letters: Avoid using gray letters in future guesses - they're not in the word
- Use hints: After 3 guesses, you'll get a hint button (💡) to reveal the first letter
- Keep trying: You can play unlimited games - perfect for practicing your legal terminology!
💚 Multiplayer
- Enter your name: Add the name you want friends to see on the room activity board.
- Create a room: Click Multiplayer, then Create Room. LAWDLE generates a 5-digit room code you can copy and share.
- Join a room: Click Join Room, enter your friend’s 5-digit code, then press Join Room again or press Enter in the code field.
- Start together: When everyone is ready, press Start. Everyone in the room gets the same hidden word and shared timer.
- Track the race: Room Activity shows who joined, who is playing, who finished, scores, hints used, time, and rank changes.
- Leave multiplayer: Use End Multiplayer to return to solo practice mode.
