About the scholarship
The Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) Scholarship, offered through Hungary’s Stipendium Hungaricum program, is a fully funded initiative to attract international students to pursue postgraduate studies at ELTE, a leading research university in Budapest, Hungary. Covering full tuition, accommodation, a monthly stipend (approximately HUF 43,700 for master’s, HUF 140,000 for PhD), and medical insurance, the scholarship supports master’s and PhD programs across disciplines like science, humanities, law, and informatics. ELTE, one of Hungary’s oldest and most prestigious universities, offers a vibrant academic environment with state-of-the-art facilities, international faculty, and a rich cultural setting in Budapest, fostering academic excellence and cultural exchange.
The Stipendium Hungaricum program aims to strengthen Hungary’s role as a global education hub and promote bilateral cooperation with over 80 partner countries. Scholars benefit from English- or Hungarian-taught programs, language courses, and opportunities to engage in cutting-edge research addressing global challenges, such as digital innovation and sustainability. The scholarship includes access to ELTE’s extensive alumni network, career services, and cultural integration activities, preparing graduates for leadership roles in academia, industry, or government. By supporting talented international students, the ELTE Scholarship fosters global collaboration and empowers scholars to contribute to their home countries’ development.
