- Provide comprehensive legal advice and support on all aspects of real estate transactions, including property acquisition, development, sales, and leasing.
- Draft, review, and negotiate various legal documents, including sales agreements, lease agreements, joint venture agreements, vendor contracts, and other commercial instruments.
- Conduct thorough legal due diligence on potential properties and projects, identifying and mitigating risks.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant Nigerian property laws, land use regulations, environmental standards, and corporate governance requirements.
- Represent the company in legal matters, including negotiations, mediations, and liaising with external counsel when necessary.
- Manage and maintain all legal documentation, records, and intellectual property.
- Advise on corporate compliance matters and provide general legal support to various departments within the organization.
- Stay abreast of changes in real estate law and regulatory frameworks, advising the management on potential impacts.
Requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from a recognized university.
- Must be called to the Nigerian Bar and possess a current practicing license.
- Proven relevant experience in real estate law, property law, corporate law, or commercial law, preferably within a real estate development firm or a reputable law firm with a strong real estate practice.
- Strong understanding of Nigerian property law, land registration processes, and regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Superior drafting, negotiation, and communication skills (both written and verbal).
- High ethical standards, integrity, and professional conduct.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in legal software and standard office applications.
