The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Legal & Compliance Officer to join our team in a hybrid capacity. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and continuously maintain comprehensive compliance policies and procedures, aligning with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Proactively monitor changes in relevant laws and regulations within the financial technology sector and provide timely, actionable advice to management on their potential impact.
- Conduct regular and thorough compliance risk assessments, developing and implementing effective mitigation strategies for identified risks.
- Offer expert legal and compliance guidance to various departments concerning new products, services, and strategic business initiatives.
- Manage all aspects of regulatory filings and reporting obligations efficiently and accurately.
- Serve as a key liaison with regulatory bodies and external auditors, fostering transparent and productive relationships.
- Design and deliver engaging compliance training programs for employees to foster a strong culture of compliance.
- Investigate and effectively resolve compliance-related issues and breaches, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
- Review, draft, and negotiate a variety of legal documents, contracts, and agreements.
- Ensure strict adherence to all data protection and privacy regulations, safeguarding sensitive information.

Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized university.
- Must be called to the Nigerian Bar.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of post-call experience in legal and compliance roles, with a strong preference for experience within the financial services or fintech industry.
- Demonstrable strong knowledge of Nigerian financial laws and regulations, including but not limited to CBN, SEC, and NDPR.

- Proven ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
