Meta and NDPC Consent Judgment

Months ago, Meta Platforms Inc. and the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) executed Terms of Settlement, which were subsequently entered as a consent judgment by the Federal High Court.
Pursuant to the settlement, the NDPC waived the administrative fine of USD 32.8 million imposed on Meta and discharged Meta from all obligations and liabilities arising from a Final Order in which Meta was found to have violated the privacy rights of over 61 million Nigerians.
In this webinar, hosted by the NBA Data Protection Committee, leading lawyers and digital rights advocates will examine the legal, regulatory, and public policy implications of the consent judgment, with particular focus on data protection enforcement and consumer rights in Nigeria.
