Job summary

NairaPoint is looking to hire a proactive and detail-oriented Legal Officer (MFB / Finance House Experience) to support legal and regulatory compliance across business operations. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a Microfinance Bank (MFB) or Finance House, with strong knowledge of contracts, regulatory compliance, and corporate legal documentation.

 

Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Draft, review, and manage contracts, agreements, and legal documents
  • Provide legal guidance on loan documentation, collections, and customer disputes
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements relevant to MFB/finance operations
  • Support legal risk management and ensure proper documentation standards
  • Liaise with external counsel, regulators, and relevant stakeholders as needed
  • Handle legal correspondence and maintain legal records
  • Support internal investigations and disciplinary matters where legal input is required
  • Provide legal support for partnerships and vendor agreements
  • Ensure timely updates of corporate filings and legal obligations

Requirements

Requirements:

  • The ideal candidate will have experience working in a Microfinance Bank (MFB) or Finance House
  • Must have strong knowledge of contracts, regulatory compliance, and corporate legal documentation.

LL.B and BL (Call to Bar) 2–3 years legal experience in an MFB or Finance House Strong knowledge of financial services regulation and contract law Excellent drafting and negotiation skills Strong attention to detail and confidentiality Ability to work independently and under deadlines Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
