Job Details

Job Purpose

The Legal Executive will support Layer3’s legal, regulatory, and compliance functions. The role focuses on ensuring corporate compliance, managing contracts, supporting governance processes, handling disputes, and providing sound legal advisory services to protect the company’s interests across its operations and subsidiaries.

Duties & Responsibilities

Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management

Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and corporate governance standards

Monitor legislative and regulatory changes affecting business operations

Develop and oversee compliance programs to mitigate legal risks

Conduct internal audits and investigations where required

Contract Management & Negotiation

Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with vendors, partners, and customers

Ensure contracts align with business objectives and risk tolerance

Maintain an organised contract management system

Governance & Policy Development

Support the Company Secretary and Board on corporate governance matters

Ensure internal policies and reports meet legal and best-practice standards

Assist in developing governance frameworks that strengthen legal integrity

Data Protection & Privacy Compliance

Ensure compliance with data protection regulations (GDPR, NDPR, etc.)

Develop and oversee internal data protection procedures

Support dispute management and liaison with external counsel

Oversee compliance-related legal matters across subsidiaries

Dispute Resolution & Litigation Management

Handle legal disputes involving the company

Coordinate with external counsel and consultants

Serve as first point of contact for litigation and legal proceedings

Protect the interests of directors in litigation matters

Training & Legal Awareness

Conduct staff awareness sessions on legal, compliance, and data protection matters

Keep management informed of legal developments impacting the business
