  • Provide proactive legal counsel to executive management and business units on corporate, commercial, and operational matters.
  • Interpret and advise on laws, regulations, and policies impacting the business across all industries.
  • Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a wide range of commercial agreements, vendor contracts, partnership agreements, service-level agreements, and regulatory documentation.
  • Support strategic business initiatives, expansion projects, and partnerships from a legal and compliance perspective.
  • Lead and manage all litigation, arbitration, mediation, and dispute resolution matters involving the organization.
  • Coordinate and supervise external solicitors and legal consultants on ongoing cases.
  • Develop legal strategies to minimize exposure and protect the company's commercial interests.
  • Represent the organization in high-level legal negotiations and engagements where necessary.
  • Maintain oversight of legal risk exposure and ensure timely resolution of disputes.
  • Ensure full compliance with industry regulations, statutory obligations, and corporate governance standards.
  • Liaise with regulatory agencies, goverment institutions, and industry stakeholders on legal and compliance matters.
  • Identify legal risks associated with business operations and recommend practical mitigation strategies.
  • Oversee corporate governance frameworks and ensure adherence to best practices.
  • Develop and implement legal policies, procedures, and compliance controls.

Requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Laws (LL. B) degree from a recognized institution.
  • Barrister-al-Law (B.L) qualification and membership of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) is mandatory.
  • Master's degree in Law, Business Administration, or related discipline will be an added advantage.
  • 18-25 years post-call experience in corporate legal practice.
  • Must possess substantial work experience across key sectors: (FMCG, Real estate, Banking, Telco, and Oil and Gas)
  • Proven track record in handling complex litigation and high-value legal disputes.
  • Experience engaging with regulatory agencies and managing corporate compliance frameworks.
  • Prior experience in a senior legal leadership or Head of Legal role is highly preferred.
  • Strong expertise in litigation management and dispute resolution.
  • In-depth knowledge of Nigerian corporate, commercial, telecommunications, and FMCG laws.
  • Excellent contract drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and corporate govemance.
