Legal & Compliance Manager

Job Descriptions

• Lead engagement with key regulatory bodies, including the Bank of Ghana and the Central Bank of Nigeria, overseeing all aspects of regulatory licensing and compliance.
• Manage corporate governance and company secretarial matters for both Nigerian and Ghanaian entities, ensuring statutory compliance and best practices.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including vendor contracts, service agreements, and technology licenses, safeguarding M-KOPA’s interests.
• Oversee and manage the external legal counsel panel across both markets, ensuring efficient and effective legal support.
• Serve as the designated Data Privacy Officer for the West Africa region, responsible for ensuring full compliance with applicable data privacy legislation, supported by the global privacy team.
• Maintain and enhance the comprehensive suite of compliance tools, including the obligations register, training calendar, incident register, and risk register.
• Coordinate and deliver compliance training programmes, and actively support the implementation of Environmental and Social Management Systems (ESMS) and ESG investor reporting initiatives.
