Job Description

NG Clearing was established to function as a central counterparty to support growth and development in the Nigerian Capital Market, as the gateway to African Markets.

The Compliance Officer is responsible for monitoring and ensuring legal and regulatory compliance in all activities of NG Clearing and in line with its internal policies and procedures; providing valuable knowledge-based services, including contract drafting; contract review and monitoring; document review for due diligence, intellectual property support, administrative/ regulatory filings and legal research

Job grade: Analyst – Senior Analyst, subject to experience

Department: Legal & Company Secretariat, Regulatory & Compliance

Reports to: Legal Manager

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Law Degree
  • Admission to the Nigerian bar with 3 - 5 years post-qualification experience.
  • A Master of Laws (LLM) or Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree will be an added advantage.
  • A member of a professional association, such as the Institute of Chartered Secretaries & Administrators of Nigeria, will be an added advantage.
  • Top tier law firm experience - preferably experience in financial/capital market-related transactions and/or compliance functions (or experience in the legal function of a top tier capital market or financial industry operator
