Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Timely submission of all periodic and ad-hoc regulatory and statutory returns to relevant authorities, including the SEC, NFIU, and FIRS.
  • Provision of guidance on the implementation of newly introduced and adopted regulatory standards.
  • Regulatory advisory support to business units to ensure effective implementation of regulatory circularst and directives.
  • Design and implementation of compliance processes, reports, alert systems, and automation tools to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Collaboration with internal stakeholders in the development and review of products, services, and processes to ensure regulatory and statutory compliance.
  • Review of client onboarding documentation and data to ensure accuracy, completeness, compliance with required standards, and appropriate escalation of exceptions.
  • Management of regulatory correspondence and engagement with regulators and government

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and project management capabilities.
  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to articulate complex issues clearly and confidently.
  • Proven ability to multitask, prioritise work, anc consistently meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, credibility, anc confidence in implementing best practices.
  • Sound knowledge of the role and a gooc understanding of the financial services industry.
  • High level of attention to detail and commitment to effective documentation.
  • Operational awareness with strong business support and commercial acumen.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.

Requirements

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree (minimum of Second Class Lower) in Accounting, Law, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Professional qualification or membership of ICAN, NBA, ACCA, or CIN will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of five (5) years' relevant experience in compliance functions within financial institutions.
  • Possession of SEC sponsorship is an added advantage.
