Job Description

StarGuide HR Consulting Limited is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Legal & Compliance Officer to provide strategic legal advisory and compliance support within the dynamic real estate sector.

This pivotal full-time role, based in Lagos, is ideal for a proactive legal professional with a strong background in corporate, commercial, and property law, dedicated to ensuring regulatory adherence, robust contract management, and effective legal risk mitigation.

Key Responsibilities:

Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of legal documentation, including corporate contracts, commercial agreements, and property-related instruments.

Provide expert legal advisory services on complex corporate and real estate transactions, supporting strategic business initiatives.

Ensure comprehensive compliance with all relevant regulatory and statutory requirements impacting the real estate industry.

Proactively identify potential legal risks and develop robust mitigation strategies to safeguard the company's interests.

Manage and oversee litigation matters, effectively coordinating with external counsel when required.

Maintain meticulous corporate records and statutory documentation, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.

Offer legal support during business negotiations and contribute to the effective resolution of disputes.

Requirements

A Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree and Barrister at Law (B.L) qualification.

Minimum of 5 years post-call experience in legal practice.

Demonstrable strong background and expertise in corporate law, commercial law, and property law.

Proven experience in regulatory compliance management, particularly within a commercial context.

Exceptional drafting, negotiation, and legal risk advisory skills.

Prior experience within the real estate sector is a significant advantage.

Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

What We Offer:

Competitive Remuneration: NGN 400,000 – NGN 500,000 per month (negotiable based on experience), plus potential commission.
