Job Description

 

This role sits in the corporate legal team and focuses on handling the company’s day-to-day legal work across its Nigerian and international subsidiaries. The attorney drafts and reviews contracts, prepares legal opinions, supports joint venture and commercial transactions, and advises internal teams on legal risks across areas like oil and gas operations, employment matters, compliance, disputes, and intellectual property.

The position also involves coordinating with governance, tax, finance, procurement, and external lawyers. Administrative responsibilities include tracking legal projects, maintaining documentation, managing billing processes, and keeping legal records organized and accessible.

Requirements

The ideal candidate has a law degree (minimum second-class lower), about 2–4 years of legal experience (oil & gas or general practice), strong communication skills, and the ability to manage complex assignments under pressure. Success in the role is measured by turnaround time, reporting quality, document accuracy, record management, and overall service reliability
