About Us

Altivor is a consultancy specializing in AI governance, and contract risk advisory.

The Role

We’re hiring our first team member — an Associate (Legal & AI) — who will work directly with the founder on legal research, AI regulatory monitoring, contract work, business development, content creation, and operations.

This is NOT a traditional legal role. You’ll be involved in building a business, not just practicing law.

You’ll be perfect for this if you:

• Want exposure to AI, legal tech, and cutting-edge legal issues

• Are entrepreneurial and comfortable with ambiguity

• Enjoy variety (legal work + content + business development)

• Want to build something, not just execute tasks

• Are AI-curious and excited to learn new tools

This role is NOT a good fit if you:

• Want traditional legal experience only (law firm-style practice)

• Aren’t willing to learn new skills, tools, and areas outside traditional law

• Need clearly defined 9-5 tasks with no variation

• Don’t enjoy working with AI tools, writing, content creation, or business development

Key Responsibilities

1. Legal & AI Governance Work

Contract Review, Drafting & Negotiation Support - Support client matters through first-pass reviews of contracts, identifying legal, commercial, and regulatory risks, and escalating key issues for review.

Regulatory Monitoring & AI Governance - Track global AI regulatory developments, including the EU AI Act, UK, US, and Nigerian regimes. Maintain the company’s AI Regulation Tracker and prepare

concise regulatory summaries for the website, newsletter, and client advisory work.

Legal Technology & AI Tools - Maintain and update the company’s legal tech and AI tools database.

Research, demo, and test new AI and legal technology, and documenting new tools (including use cases, limitations, and governance considerations for tools reviewed).

2. Business Development & Client Support

Client Acquisition - Support client acquisition efforts by identifying target companies, researching prospects, and assisting with outreach. Contribute to proposal drafting and help coordinate discovery calls and follow-ups.

Sales & Client Support - Prepare client-facing materials and presentations, track leads and pipeline activity, and support the founder during client discussions and follow-up processes.

3. Content, Knowledge & Digital Engagement

Thought Leadership & LinkedIn - Support the company’s thought leadership and engage with relevant audiences. Contribute to consistent visibility and relationship-building across digital channels.

Newsletter & Website - Research and draft content for the weekly newsletter and support ongoing

website updates.

4. Operations, Systems & Reporting

Systems & Documentation - Support the creation and documentation of standard operating procedures, workflows, and internal guidelines. Help organise files, templates, and the internal knowledge base, including GDPR-related documentation.

Metrics & Reporting - Track key business metrics across content, engagement, and client pipeline.

Maintain CRM and internal tracking systems.

Required Qualifications

Essential:

• 1-2 years post-qualification experience

• Strong legal research and writing skills

• Excellent English (written and spoken)

• AI-curious and comfortable using specialized and general AI tools

• Self-motivated and organized (remote work requires discipline)

• Tech-savvy (Google Workspace, Canva, social media, willing to learn new tools)

• Entrepreneurial mindset (you like building, not just executing)

Highly Valued:

• Contract law or commercial law experience

• Exposure to tech, startups, or legal tech

• Content creation experience (writing, social media)

• Business development or sales exposure

• Experience with AI tools in legal work
