Role Summary

Demonstrate significant experience and breadth of knowledge of litigation practices. Proffer sound legal advice, diligently conduct cases through the litigation process in accordance with the policy and procedures in place and represent clients to achieve a favourable outcome.

Advise on technical, strategic and procedural aspects across the spectrum of problems, although the focus will be providing advice on a broad range of legal and commercial matters, be involved in negotiations and legal drafting. Frequently multi-jurisdictional in nature, your activities may include providing advice in relation to companies, shareholder issues, director duties, investments, banking and other financial transactions, and all aspects of the regulatory framework within which our clients must operate.

Key Responsibilities

Manage litigation matters from initiation through trial and enforcement.

Draft and file court processes, pleadings, motions, and witness statements.

Develop litigation strategies and case plans in collaboration with senior counsel and clients.

Represent clients in court, arbitration, and settlement negotiations.

Negotiate, draft, and review a wide range of commercial agreements including service, financing, joint venture, shareholders’, lease, construction, and NDA agreements.

Provide legal advisory support on corporate, regulatory, and commercial matters.

Conduct legal research and prepare legal opinions and reports.

Handle debt recovery matters including negotiations, settlements, and enforcement.

Monitor legal and regulatory developments in Nigeria and advise clients accordingly.
