Head, legal and compliance

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a person that can provides legal and compliance support by advising on regulatory requirements, reviewing legal documents and ensuring adherence to laws, internal policies and governance standards. The role also supports regulatory filings, compliance monitoring and coordination of Board and Committee activities while maintaining accurate statutory records.

Duties & Responsibilities:

* Provide legal advisory support to the company and management on all matters as may be delegated by the team lead.

* Advising on the interpretation of laws and regulations, monitoring any amendment to them and updating management on the implications of such.

* Drafting, reviewing or supervising the work of external counsel to ensure the drafting and review of legal documentation.

* Review all offering/investment memoranda.

Compliance Monitoring

* Support regulatory filings and reporting obligations.

* Performing compliance functions-ensuring compliance with manuals and procedure and maintaining exception reports as may be required.

* Assist in compliance reviews and internal control monitoring.

* Track AML/CFT/CPF, data protection and policy adherence.

* Continuously monitor compliance with statutory obligations and advise management accordingly.

* Prepare monthly and quarterly reports as may be delegated by the team lead.

* Perform all other duties as may be delegated by the team lead from time to time.

* Maintain compliance registers and incident logs.

Corporate Governance

* Support Board and Committee meeting coordination.

* Prepare board packs and minutes.

* Maintain statutory registers and filings.

* Monitor policy implementation across business units.
