Head, Legal / Company Secretary

Requirements

• Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree from a recognized university, with a minimum of a Second-Class Honours grade.
• Called to the Nigerian Bar (Barrister at Law - BL).
• A Master of Laws (LL.M) degree will be considered an added advantage.
• Minimum of nine (9) years of post-call legal work experience, with a significant portion gained as in-house counsel within the legal department of a reputable, structured business environment.
• Demonstrated experience in a leadership or senior advisory legal role.
• Comprehensive understanding of the Oil & Gas industry, its historical context, current dynamics, and regulatory landscape.
• Profound knowledge of local, national, and international laws and regulations relevant to the energy sector and corporate operations.
• Proven expertise in company secretarial practice, including statutory compliance, board administration, and corporate governance.
• Strong capabilities in developing, implementing, and overseeing corporate governance frameworks and effectively managing board affairs.
• Ability to provide strategic, commercially sound legal advice that aligns with business objectives.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating legal risks.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex legal concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
