About the scholarship
The Malaysian Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP) Scholarship 2025-2026, funded by the Malaysian Government, is a fully funded initiative to support international students from developing countries pursuing master’s degrees at Malaysian public universities. Available for the September/October 2025 intake, it covers full tuition fees, a monthly living allowance (approximately MYR 1,200), accommodation, health insurance, visa costs, and one-time round-trip airfare. The program, spanning 24-36 months, focuses on fields critical to development, including science and technology, economics, public administration, environmental management, and education. Hosted by institutions like Universiti Malaya and Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Malaysia (IIUM), scholars access world-class facilities, research opportunities, and a multicultural academic environment.
The MTCP Scholarship aims to strengthen bilateral ties and build capacity in recipient countries, empowering graduates to address challenges like poverty, healthcare, and sustainability. Scholars benefit from Malaysia’s strategic location in ASEAN, offering networking with regional organizations, internships, and cultural immersion through language courses (Malay or English) and community engagement. The program fosters leadership, with workshops on project management and policy analysis, preparing students for impactful careers. By supporting talented professionals, the MTCP Scholarship enhances Malaysia’s role as a regional education hub and promotes global collaboration for sustainable development.
