About the scholarship
The Australian Government Research Training Program (RTP) Scholarship 2025-2026 is a fully funded initiative supporting domestic and international students pursuing research-based postgraduate degrees (master’s by research or PhD) at Australian universities. Covering fields like science, engineering, health, social sciences, and humanities, it provides full tuition fee offsets, a living stipend (approximately AUD 32,192/year, tax-exempt), and allowances for relocation, thesis production, or research expenses. Scholars study at top institutions like the University of Melbourne, ANU, or Monash, accessing world-class research facilities and academic expertise in Australia’s innovative academic ecosystem.
The RTP Scholarship fosters cutting-edge research addressing global challenges like climate change, public health, and technology. Recipients benefit from mentorship by leading researchers, access to national research networks, and opportunities for industry collaboration. Australia’s vibrant, multicultural environment, with cities like Sydney and Melbourne, enhances the student experience through cultural events and outdoor activities. The scholarship empowers scholars to produce impactful research, contributing to global knowledge and innovation, while strengthening Australia’s position as a leader in research and education.
