Thrive to Host Chevening Scholars for Scholarship Application Conversation
Thrive will bring together Chevening scholars from leading UK universities to offer lawyers practical guidance on applying for fully funded postgraduate scholarships.
Thrive will host a special conversation with Chevening scholars on Saturday, September 12, 2026, to help lawyers understand the application process for fully funded postgraduate scholarships in the United Kingdom.
The event, titled “Winning Chevening Scholarships,” will begin at 10:00 a.m. and feature scholars with experience at leading UK universities.
Learning From Chevening Scholars
The speakers include Janet Isesele, a 2024, 2025 Chevening Scholar at the University of Sussex, and Ezekiel Osei, an LLM candidate at the University of Cambridge and a 2024, 2025 Chevening Scholar.
Miracle Ogba, a Queen Mary University of London Chevening Scholar for the 2023, 2024 academic session, will also participate.
The conversation will be hosted by Thrive's team lead, Feranmi Adeoye, a doctoral researcher at the University of Reading in the United Kingdom.
The speakers will draw from their scholarship experiences to guide prospective applicants interested in postgraduate study in the UK.
Building a Strong Application
Winning a fully funded scholarship requires more than strong academic results.
Applicants must communicate their leadership experience, professional relationships, course choices and long-term career plans clearly. They must also show how their proposed studies connect with the impact they hope to make after graduation.
For lawyers, professional practice, community service and participation in legal organisations can provide useful examples of leadership and impact. The challenge is presenting those experiences in a focused and convincing application.
The event will give prospective applicants an opportunity to learn from previous recipients and approach the process with greater clarity.
