Senior Associate

Olalekan Ojo SAN & Co. is seeking a highly competent, experienced, and result-oriented Senior Associate to join its litigation and advocacy team. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong expertise in civil and criminal litigation, excellent courtroom advocacy, and high-level legal drafting skills to manage matters independently from commencement through trial and appeal.

​Key Responsibilities

• ​Independently handle and manage litigation matters with minimal supervision.
• ​Conduct legal research and provide well-reasoned legal opinions and advice.
• ​Draft high-quality court processes, including originating processes, pleadings, motions, affidavits, written addresses, notices, briefs, and appellate processes.
• ​Attend court regularly, represent clients effectively, and demonstrate sound courtroom practice and litigation strategy.
• ​Prepare matters thoroughly for trial, including witnesses, exhibits, cross-examination, and legal arguments.
• ​Conduct examination-in-chief and cross-examination of witnesses.
• ​Handle interlocutory applications, written addresses, and appellate processes before the Courts.
• ​Maintain regular client communication, manage deadlines, court dates, and case files efficiently.
• ​Supervise, mentor, delegate work to, and review the output of junior associates, interns, and litigation team members.
• ​Participate in strategy meetings and assist Partners in managing the litigation practice.
