- Provide administrative and coordination support to the Legal Director and Legal team, including travel, meetings, events, and key departmental activities
- Coordinate Legal team and external meetings, including preparation of agendas, minutes, action items, and timely follow-up
- Track the execution and circulation of legal documents requiring signatures and maintain accurate legal filing systems
- Conduct legal research on applicable laws, regulations, and relevant industry developments
- Prepare legal summaries, briefing notes, routine legal documents, notices, and correspondence
- Support the implementation of the Legal and compliance framework
- Maintain accurate trackers for litigation, contracts, regulatory permits, licences, and compliance activities
- Keep the Thompson Reuters litigation tracker updated and ensure relevant legal matters are accurately recorded
- Support the Legal Director with board and company secretarial activities and preparation of executive presentations and briefing materials
- Coordinate invoice processing for external counsel and legal vendors and support monitoring of the Legal Department budget
- Support procurement activities relating to legal vendors and contribute to departmental process improvements
- Ensure confidential and sensitive legal information and documentation are securely maintained
- Monitor key deadlines and follow up on outstanding actions to support timely and effective delivery of Legal priorities
Requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LL.B.); Nigerian Law School qualification (B.L.) is an added advantage
- 2-5 years’ experience working in a legal department or law firm
- Experience within an FMCG or multinational corporate environment is an advantage
- Good understanding of Nigerian laws relevant to the FMCG sector
- Strong legal research, drafting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organization, time management, prioritization, and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver quality work within tight deadlines
- Adaptable, solution-oriented, and able to work effectively with multiple stakeholders
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and electronic document management systems
- Familiarity with SAP Ariba or similar ERP systems is an advantage
- Strong ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise professional discretion
