About this event

The rapid growth of AI brings real global consequences, especially for Africa. As AI systems are deployed across critical sectors like health and governance, it raises urgent questions.
▪ Are our institutions prepared?
▪ Do our policies anticipate the risks?

In collaboration with the African Observatory on Responsible AI, we are launching a three part webinar series “The Big AI Debate: Africa’s Outlook” to explore this topic.
Our first webinar will focus on "AI Safety: An African Perspective" and will introduce a five-point action plan to build a continent-wide approach to AI safety. We will explore how establishing an African AI Safety Institute and promoting public literacy can secure the continent's sovereignty and ensure its participation in shaping global AI governance.
