Eligibility

Eligibility for the Axel Adler Scholarship includes the following criteria:

• Nationality: Applicants must be non-EU/EEA international students liable for tuition fees at the University of Gothenburg.
• Program Admission: Candidates must hold an offer for a full-time master’s program at the University of Gothenburg for the 2025/2026 academic year.
• Academic Excellence: Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree with a strong academic record, typically equivalent to a Swedish GPA of VG (Very Good) or better (e.g., GPA 3.7/4.0).
• English Proficiency: Candidates must meet the university’s English language requirements, such as IELTS 6.5 (no band below 6.0) or TOEFL iBT 90 (no sub-score below 20).
• Application Process: No separate scholarship application is required; candidates are automatically considered based on their master’s program application submitted by January 15, 2026.
• Selection Criteria: Selection is based on academic excellence, the quality of the program application, and alignment with Gothenburg’s academic priorities.

Applications for the master’s program are submitted through Sweden’s university admissions portal (universityadmissions.se) by January 15, 2026. Candidates must include academic transcripts, a CV, a motivation letter, and recommendation letters. Selection is highly competitive, with priority given to top-ranked applicants. International students must also meet Swedish visa requirements.
