NBA Kaduna Commends Governor Uba Sani for Judicial Infrastructure Support

Renovation and Vehicles for Judges

The Kaduna Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association has praised Governor Uba Sani's administration for what it describes as significant improvements to the state's justice sector. In a statement issued by its Chairman, Baba Lawal Aliyu, the Association commended the massive renovation and rehabilitation of the High Court complex, noting that the intervention would enhance the working environment, mobility and overall performance of judicial officers. The NBA Kaduna Branch also lauded the governor's provision of 40 official vehicles to judges of the High Court, Sharia Court of Appeal and Customary Court of Appeal.

Restoration of Robe Allowance

Beyond infrastructure, the Branch welcomed the restoration of robe allowance payments to magistrates, including the settlement in 2025 of an outstanding 2024 allowance. The Association said these initiatives reflect the state government's recognition of the judiciary as a critical institution for sustaining the rule of law and effective justice delivery in Kaduna State.

A Call for the Lower Courts

Despite the commendation, the NBA Kaduna Branch used the statement to appeal to the governor to extend similar support to magistrates and other judicial officers at the lower courts, who it described as being at the frontline of justice delivery. The Association argued that these officers require adequate logistical and infrastructural support of their own to perform their duties effectively, signalling that while progress has been made at the High Court level, the Branch sees more work ahead across the wider judicial system
