- Manage all litigation, arbitration, and alternative dispute resolution matters.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including:
- Supply and distribution agreements, Service contracts, Joint venture and partnership agreements
- Provide legal support on transactions, including M&A, financing, and restructuring.
- Advise on applicable laws and regulations affecting the business.
- Ensure compliance with industry-specific regulations and corporate governance standards.
- Identify legal risks and provide practical solutions.
- Develop strategies to minimize exposure to litigation and liability.
- Interacting and integrating with other departments in the Company around cost management, loss and such other things that may lead to a breach of contract or violation of laws
- Research and evaluate different risk factors regarding business decisions and operations
- Supervise and coordinate junior legal department members.
- Mentor and develop internal legal talent.
Requirements
Qualifications
- LLB Degree in Law
- BL Degree /Call to the Nigerian Bar
- ICSAN Membership
- MBA or BSc in Business Administration will be an advantage;
- A minimum of 10 years working as a Legal Counsel for businesses.
- A proven track record of creating effective legal strategies.
- Sound Knowledge of Nigerian Laws and Judgments
