Job Description
The Plenipotent Company is recruiting an Entrepreneurial Legal Associate for its Talent Development & Business Incubation Programme. This two-year programme is designed for lawyers who want to build expertise in corporate and commercial law while developing the entrepreneurial skills needed to establish a successful, technology-enabled legal practice.
Participants will receive structured training, hands-on legal experience, business incubation, mentorship, and long-term career support.
Key Responsibilities
Corporate & Commercial Practice
- Conduct legal research on corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters.
- Draft and review commercial agreements, including NDAs, Service Agreements, Joint Venture Agreements, and Shareholders' Agreements.
- Prepare legal opinions and advisory memoranda.
- Support corporate restructuring and capital-raising transactions.
Property & Real Estate
- Draft and review real estate documentation, including Deeds of Assignment and Lease Agreements.
- Conduct property due diligence and verification.
- Prepare and process perfection documents.
Corporate Governance & Compliance
- Draft board resolutions, minutes, and other corporate documentation.
- Support regulatory compliance and statutory filings.
- Assist in developing governance frameworks and internal corporate policies.
Client Advisory & Business Development
- Interface with clients and regulatory agencies.
- Participate in client meetings and transaction discussions.
- Support business development initiatives.
- Contribute to internal knowledge-sharing and continuous learning activities.
Requirements
Requirements
Applicants should possess:
- LL.B and qualification as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
- 2–4 years of post-qualification experience.
- Strong experience in corporate and commercial legal drafting.
- Excellent legal research and analytical skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and sound judgment.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments effectively.
- A genuine interest in entrepreneurship and building a future legal practice.
