Job Description

SCIDaR is looking for a Legal Intern to support its legal team in legal research, policy review, data protection and compliance, with a particular focus on health, education, human rights and development-related legal issues. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with privacy policies, data-sharing agreements and consent forms.
  • Support data protection compliance and data audits.
  • Assist with data subject access requests and related queries.
  • Conduct legal research on national and international laws, particularly in health, education, development and human rights.
  • Review laws and policies and identify areas requiring reform.
  • Draft reports, briefs, legal opinions and policy proposals.
  • Assist with contracts, legal documents and policy papers.
  • Support corporate governance and intellectual property matters.
  • Liaise with government agencies, human rights organisations and international bodies.
  • Assist with legal training, presentations and other legal team activities.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated interest in policy development, data protection and human rights advocacy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and ethical standards.
  • Genuine interest in and commitment to SCIDaR's mission.
  • Fast learner and willing to learn collaboratively.
