Manager, Legal & Compliance

Protergia Energy Nigeria is seeking an experienced Manager, Legal & Compliance to oversee the company's legal, regulatory and compliance activities. The role combines legal advisory, contract management, corporate governance, regulatory compliance and risk management within the renewable energy sector. 

Key Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice to management on business decisions, contracts and legal risks.
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts, including EPC agreements, PPAs, vendor contracts, leases and partnership agreements.
• Manage corporate governance matters, board resolutions, legal filings and statutory obligations.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations and industry standards.
• Liaise with regulators and relevant government agencies.
• Manage licences, permits and regulatory approvals.
• Identify legal and compliance risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Manage disputes, claims and litigation and coordinate external counsel.
• Develop and implement compliance, ethics and anti-corruption policies.
• Provide legal and compliance training to staff.
• Work closely with business development, finance, HR and technical teams to provide legal support for projects.
