Job Descriptions

  • Assist in drafting, reviewing, and proofreading legal documents, including contracts, leases, deeds, tenancy agreements, memoranda, and other property-related agreements.
  • Conduct legal research on real estate, corporate, and regulatory matters.
  • Support the preparation and processing of land documentation, title perfection, property registration, Governor's Consent, and other statutory approvals.
  • Liaise with government agencies, regulatory bodies, courts, and external solicitors on legal matters.
  • Maintain and organize legal files, property records, contracts, and litigation documents.
  • Monitor the status of legal cases and property documentation to ensure timely follow-up.
  • Assist in ensuring the company's compliance with applicable real estate laws, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare legal reports, correspondence, and meeting minutes.
  • Coordinate execution and safe custody of legal agreements.
  • Support dispute resolution processes and litigation management where required.
  • Perform other legal and administrative duties as assigned by the Head of Legal.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (LL.B) in Law.
  • 2–4 years of post-qualification experience as a Legal Assistant, Legal Officer, or similar role, preferably within the real estate industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Nigerian property law, land documentation processes, and corporate legal practice.
  • Excellent legal drafting, analytical, and research skills.
  • Strong organizational and document management abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Call to the Nigerian Bar (BL).
  • Experience handling title perfection, land registration, property acquisitions, and real estate transactions.
  • Familiarity with CAC compliance and corporate governance requirements.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Analytical thinking.
  • Time management.
  • Problem-solving.
  • Negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
