Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Legal Officer who will be primarily responsible for legal and compliance-related tasks. When legal workload is light, the role will also support the organization through general Virtual Assistant (VA) duties, contributing to overall operational efficiency.

 

Key Responsibilities

Legal Officer Responsibilities

Draft, review, and manage contracts, agreements, and legal documents

Conduct legal research and provide summaries or recommendations as needed

Support compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies

Liaise with external legal counsel when required

Maintain organized records of legal documents and correspondence

Assist in risk assessment and internal legal procedures

Virtual Assistant Responsibilities (When Legal Tasks Are Not Required)

Provide administrative support such as email management, scheduling, and calendar coordination

Prepare reports, presentations, and basic documentation

Manage data entry, file organization, and record keeping

Assist with research tasks and information gathering

Support day-to-day operational and administrative needs of the team

Handle ad-hoc tasks to support management and ongoing projects

Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Law or related field

Prior experience as a Legal Officer, Legal Assistant, or similar role preferred

Strong understanding of legal documentation and compliance principles

Excellent organizational and time-management skills

Ability to multitask and switch between legal and administrative duties efficiently

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Proficiency in common office and productivity tools (e.g. Google Workspace, Microsoft Office)

High level of discretion and confidentiality

Working Style

Self-motivated and able to work independently

Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills

Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
