Job Summary The Legal Officer will be responsible for providing legal support and ensuring regulatory compliance across all hospitality operations. The role involves contract drafting and review, risk management, dispute resolution, corporate governance, regulatory advisory, and ensuring compliance with hospitality, employment, and health & safety laws. The Legal Officer will safeguard the organization’s legal interests while supporting operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities Draft, review, and manage contracts (vendors, suppliers, leases, guest agreements, event contracts, tenancy agreements, sales agreements). Prepare and review property documents including Deeds of Assignment, Lease Agreements, MOUs, and management agreements. Conduct due diligence on properties and verify title documents. Liaise with government agencies on land documentation, permits, and regulatory approvals. Ensure compliance with hospitality, real estate, and property laws. Advise management on legal risks relating to property acquisition, development, and operations. Handle landlord-tenant disputes and other property-related issues. Provide legal support on employee-related matters in collaboration with HR. Manage disputes involving guests, staff, vendors, buyers, or third parties. Liaise with external counsel where litigation arises. Maintain proper legal records and statutory documentation. Develop and review internal policies to ensure legal compliance. Ensure the company complies with hospitality regulations, licenses, and permits. Handle employee-related legal issues in collaboration with HR. Manage disputes involving guests, staff, vendors, or third parties. Liaise with external lawyers when litigation arises. Maintain proper legal records and company documentation. Develop and review company policies to ensure legal compliance. Requirements LL.B and BL required 2 years post call 2–5 years relevant experience (real estate experience is an advantage). Must reside in Abuja, preferably round Utako Strong contract drafting and property documentation skills. Good knowledge of labor law and property law. Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
