Role Objective

  • Provide senior-level legal advisory, transaction, and litigation support while contributing to business development and firm growth.
  • The role combines corporate/commercial legal expertise, case and transaction management, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Report to the Managing Partner on legal matters and firm activities
  • Conduct advanced legal research and prepare opinions and advisory notes
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and transaction documents
  • Handle corporate transactions, restructurings, M&A, and regulatory filings
  • Manage assigned cases, pleadings, motions, and legal processes
  • Represent clients in court, tribunals, and ADR proceedings
  • Support company secretarial and corporate governance functions
  • Engage clients and manage relationships professionally
  • Contribute to client acquisition and cross-selling initiatives
  • Mentor junior lawyers and review legal work output
  • Support nominee training programs and structured legal capacity building

Requirements

LL.B + BL (Call to Bar required)

  • LL.M (Corporate/Commercial/Business Law preferred)
  • 8–10 years post-qualification experience
  • Strong background in corporate transactions, governance, and compliance
  • Experience mentoring junior lawyers and supporting business growth
  • Relevant certifications in governance, compliance, or project management are an advantage
  • Experience in Accounting or have worked with a Finance firm is a strong advantage.

Core Skills:

  • Technical: Corporate & commercial law, legal drafting, M&A, compliance, litigation/ADR, company secretarial practice, transaction structuring, legal research, case management, legal tech tools.
  • Behavioral: Leadership, communication, negotiation, critical thinking, time management, professionalism, client focus, sound judgment under pressure.
