Job Description

Job Summary: 

The Legal Adviser will provide strategic legal support to LifeBank, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and safeguarding the company’s legal and business interests. The role involves drafting and reviewing contracts, advising on corporate governance, handling disputes, and offering proactive guidance on regulatory and operational matters within the healthcare and logistics sector. The ideal candidate will combine legal expertise with strong commercial awareness to support LifeBank’s mission of saving lives by delivering essential medical supplies efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and legal documents to protect the company’s interests.
  • Provide legal advice on corporate, commercial, employment, intellectual property, and regulatory issues.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare, logistics, and corporate laws and regulations applicable to LifeBank’s operations.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare briefs, opinions, and reports for management decision-making.
  • Manage relationships with regulators, government agencies, and external counsel.
  • Support dispute resolution, litigation management, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Advise on corporate governance, board matters, and internal policy development.
  • Train internal teams on compliance, regulatory updates, and legal best practices.
  • Monitor industry and legislative changes to provide proactive legal guidance.

Requirements

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) and Barrister-at-Law (BL); Call to the Nigerian Bar.
  • Minimum of 5 years post-call experience, preferably with exposure to healthcare, technology, or logistics sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate/commercial law, regulatory compliance, and dispute management.
  • Proven ability to draft, review, and negotiate complex contracts and agreements.
  • Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engaging with regulators, partners, and internal teams.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver under pressure.
