- Drive business development initiatives by identifying new opportunities, forging strategic partnerships, and supporting the expansion of the Group's portfolio across all business verticals.
- Develop and implement the Group's legal strategy, providing proactive legal advice to senior management, the Board, and business units on all legal matters affecting the organization.
- Ensure full compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards across the Group's diverse sectors, including real estate, investment, financial services, and e-business.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of complex commercial contracts, including real estate transactions, construction agreements, investment contracts, joint ventures, and financing arrangements.
- Oversee and optimize operational processes across the Group, implementing best practices to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve service delivery.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate legal, regulatory, and operational risks, developing effective risk management frameworks to protect the organization's interests.
- Manage and oversee all litigation, arbitration, and dispute resolution matters, liaising with external counsel and representing the Group's interests effectively.
- Oversee corporate governance matters, including board resolutions, statutory filings, and ensuring compliance with corporate secretarial requirements.
- Work closely with sales, marketing, finance, projects, and HR teams to ensure legal and operational alignment with business objectives and seamless execution of initiatives.
- Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team across legal, business development, and operations, providing mentorship and fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
Requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from a recognized institution. A Master of Laws (LL.M.), MBA, or a related advanced degree is a strong added advantage.
- A minimum of 7 years of post-qualification experience, with at least 3 years in a senior role combining legal advisory, business development, and operational responsibilities.
- Professional certification is mandatory (e.g., Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) membership, Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA), or equivalent).
- Demonstrated experience in active business development and operational efficiency initiatives, with a commercial and solution-oriented mindset.
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian corporate law, real estate law, investment regulations, and contract law.
- Proven track record of driving business growth, managing operations, and leading cross-functional teams.
- Exceptional leadership, negotiation, analytical, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all organizational levels.
